Revlon Nail Paint

My favourite nail polish colour of all time! It's the perfect corn flour/baby blue colour. It's suitable for anytime of the year, I think that is the reason why I love it so much. The colour would compliment any skin tone.
It gives a glossy finish, which I prefer. It stays on the nails for a good 5 days. The consistency of the nail polish is quite thin, so you do need to apply at least 2 or 3 layers to get it to be opaque.
I haven't tried any other nail paints from Revlon, because I don't think I could find a better colour than this one. If I'm wearing nail polish,75% of the time this is the one I'm wearing.
It's easy to apply, although my only complaint is that the brush is rather thin and long.
The price of this nail polish is £6.49 which I think is a very reasonable price for a good quality nail polish. If you're looking for an all round good nail polish this is the one for you!

hd Brows Palette

My favourite product to use to fill in my brows! I was gifted this around Christmas time, and I have not used a different brow product since.
This palette has 4 shades of shadow in it - a white/cream, light brown, dark brown and a black. I tend to use the a mixture of the light brown and the dark brown to fill in my brows, the cream colour as a brow bone highlight, and the black as eye liner occasionally. But I can definitely confirm that all of the shadows work amazingly as eye shadows as well, as I have used them numerous times as eye shadow in my everyday make up routine. The shadows themselves are very soft and extremely pigmented, it is very clear to see that they are high quality shadows.

The palate comes with a little angled and tapered brush, I haven't used it yet as I use a different brush, but it's useful to have for travelling.
Sadly as you may be able to see from this picture, the black colour in my palette has cracked. I don't know if this is common, or if it is just me being to rough whilst throwing it into my make up bag. I can still use the black colour, it's perfectly fine to use. It doesn't bother me that much that the black has cracked anyway, as it is the colour I use the least from this palette.
I got this palette as I had heard it was amazing at filling in brows, which it is. But a lot of people purchase this product after receiving the full hd brows treatment. This treatment can be done at some salons. The treatment itself includes steps such as waxing, threading, plucking, and tinting. This treatment is growing in popularity. this palette is used on women that receive the full treatment also.
I think this palette retails for £25, which I think is expensive, but this price wouldn't stop me from repurchasing this product as it is so good. For reference I am in the shade Foxy, which I think is the middle shade.

My Prom Make up

I know that I didn't upload a post last week, which I am really sorry about. But I hope that you will forgive me as Friday was my last day prom! So this week I am back with a extra long post for you on my prom make up look!

First I moisturised my face with the Nivea Oil Free Day Cream. I used this all over my face, applying it with my fingers. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/nivea-oil-free-daily-moisturiser.html
I then primed my skin with The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser. I only used this on my t-zone area, and I applied it with my fingers. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/05/body-shop-pore-minimiser.html
I then further primed my face with the Seventeen Photo Flawless Skin Primer. I applied this with my fingers to the areas that I didn't apply the Tea Tree primer. A full review of this product will be coming soon.
Concealer is the next step. I obviously used my favourite concealer ever which is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 1 Fair and 2 Cool medium. I applied this to any blemishes, discolouration, and any dark circles underneath my eyes. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/collection-lasting-perfection-concealer.html
I took a major risk with my foundation, by wearing a foundation I had never tried before! This is only a sample of the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, as I am yet to try the full size version. But I was in desperate need of a full coverage foundation that would cover my scars. But I can honestly say I was impressed with this foundation, a full review will be up soon.
On top of the foundation I applied the Rimmel Stay Matte powder to ensure that my foundation stayed in place all day. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/rimmel-stay-matte-powder.html
I then filled in my brows with the HD Brows Pallete, using the lightest brown colour. A full review of this product will be up soon.
I then moved on to eyes. Firstly I primed my eyes with the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This ensured that my eye make up stayed in place all day. A full review of this product will be coming soon.
I then used the Maybelline colour tattoo in On and On Bronze, as a base for all my powder shadows. This was a perfect colour as I was going for a bronze/pink look. I applied this all over my lid with my finger and then blended it into my crease with a brush. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/maybelline-color-tatoos.html
As I wanted to include some pink into my eye look, I decided to use this NYX blusher in Angel in my crease and in my outer corner. A full review of this product shall be coming soon.
As I wanted to include a different shade of pink in the eye look I used this Benefit Hervana boxed blush also in my crease. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/03/benefit-hervana-blush.html
I decided to darken up the look slightly with this matte brown colour from the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eyeshadow Quad. I applied this with a fluffy brush in the crease only. A full review of this product shall be coming soon.
I then used this pink/taupe shimmery colour all over the lid. A full review of this pallete shall be coming soon.

I then went back to the Elizabeth Arden quad and used the lightest colour in my inner corner.
I then went back to the Avon pallete to use this white colour as a brow bone highlight.
I then lined my tight line with the black Scandaleyes eyeliner, and my waterline with the  nude liner. The full review  of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/04/rimmel-scandaleyes-eye-liner.html
I then coated my lashes with the Benefit They're Real mascara. A full review of this mascara shall be coming soon.
I contoured my face with the Bourjois Chocolate Bronzer. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/06/bourjois-paris-choclate-bronzing-powder.html

I highlighted my cheek bones with this Seventeen Metallic Cream. The full review of this product is here http://alimebeauty.blogspot.co.uk/2014/02/seventeen-highlighter-metallic-cream.html

I then applied these individual Eylure lashes. A full review of this product shall be coming soon.

I finished with the MaxFactor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in the shade Pink Petal, and then applied the Mac lipstick in Patissserie over the top of the lip liner. A review of these products shall be coming soon.

Real Techniques Powder Brush

The perfect powder brush! I have been searching for a everyday powder brush for a while now, and I've finally found it!
It applies a good layer of powder without making it cakey.
It's a big fluffy brush. It's the perfect size and density for applying powder. It's not at all scratchy, or rough on the skin, it's just really soft.
As always the Real Techniques brushes are sleek and elegant looking. This brush is one of the brushes with the gold band.
It washes easily, the product build up is really easy to wash out.
It is sold individually, it is not sold as part of a set.
At the price of £12.99 it is definitely worth it, as it is a good quality brush that will last you along time.

Bourjois Paris Choclate Bronzing Powder

This is my favourite bronzer at the moment. I've been using this product off and on since Christmas and I've been loving it. It's perfect for contour or bronzing as it's a warm, almost matte brown colour. It does have a small amount of shimmer, but it doesn't show up on the skin.
This bronzer smells wonderful.
I personally think that it smells like coconut and vanilla, but most people think that it smells like chocolate, but I have to disagree.
The packaging of this product is quite cute because it's like a little book. The actual product looks like a chocolate bar, which is a nice touch.
I either use it as a contour powder, by taking a medium sized domed brush and place it lightly in the hollows of my cheeks, to give my face more of a sculpted look, and to make my cheek bones more defined. Or I just use it as a bronzer, by taking a big fluffy brush and dusting it lightly all over my face and neck.
As it is such a warm colour you need to be careful that you don't apply to much, as it can look orange on some skin tones. The problem I have with this bronzer is the shade range that is available, when I bought mine there was only 2 shades available. I have the colour 51 which I think is light to medium.
I think it's worth the price of £7.99 without a doubt. I can tell that it's going to last me ages, and I hope to get a lot of wear out of it this summer.

The Body Shop Love Etc Body Butter

This is the only body butter that I've used since Christmas. Its a really thick body butter, which feels very luxurious on the skin. I love using this after coming from the shower or bath, it just completes any pamper experience.
It's the thickest body butter I've tried, and when you rub it into the skin it turns into an oil, but it doesn't leave your skin feeling greasy or anything. It leaves the skin feeling smooth, soft, and hydrated.
The body butter itself has a light pink tint to it, which is pretty to look at, but it soon disappears when it's rubbed into the skin.
It smells like a spa, it's sweet and rather girly, with a hint of shea butter. Shea butter and cocoa butter are the main ingredients in this body butter.
The packaging is cute and girly, with a simple white pot, with multi-coloured heart shapes on the sticker on the top. It's simple, but yet really pretty.
In this tub you get 200ml which lasts ages! Unfortunately this is not sold in stores anymore, but the Body Shop do small collections similar to this one regularly. But I suspect this was around £13 when it was sold in stores which I think is a great price as it's an amazing product. I can't wait to try some of the new releases that the Body Shop are releasing this summer.

Body Shop pore minimiser

I've been using this pore minimiser from the body shop since Christmas. It is supposed to fill pores and make them look smaller. I haven't got big pores just a couple around my nose, so I thought this product would be perfect.
I am quite impressed with this product, although I don't think it's the best. If you have a higher budget then I would go for something like the benefit porefessional, but for the price you cant go wrong with this one.
I use it every morning after my moisturiser, on the areas which I have pores. then I apply my make up on top. It fills my pores, and smoothes over my skin, to create the perfect base for my make up.
The product comes out a sort of cream colour but soon turns transparent on the skin.
This product also contains tea tree oil, which is great for the skin. So this is a great product to use if you have blemished skin as it should treat the skin, whilst also filling your pores.
I would recommend this product as its only £7.50, and the body shop's skincare are highly rated, so I am very excited to try some of their other products.

Nivea oil free daily moisturiser

So here is my everyday moisturiser that I've been using for around a year. I use this in the morning, and the Nivea regenerating night cream at night which I have made a post on recently.
I have combination skin at the moment, but this time last year I had more oily skin. As I was looking for a new moisturiser at the drugstore I decided I would try this one which is the Nivea oil free moisturising day cream. I thought that I would see if an oil free moisturiser would make a difference to my skin and keep my oil at bay. I do really like this moisturiser as it does still moisturise my skin but it doesn't make my skin oilier.
It applies white, but soon turns transparent. Its a light cream, which sinks in to the skin straight away, which I like because who has time to wait around for their moisturiser to dry? I do also like the smell of this, its not too overpowering, its a subtle, fresh scent.
This is only my second bottle, a tube of this will last you ages. The packaging is nothing special, but at the end of the day its what I would expect from a drugstore moisturiser.
This is sold at an amazing price of £4.25 and I think you wont find anything better for that price. If you have a different skin type to me, there is also a light day cream and a rich day cream, which I am sure are to the same high quality. Overall I am very impressed with this moisturiser.

Balance Me radiance face oil

I literally could not live without this stuff! I got this sample size of the balance me radiance face oil in a latest in beauty box for Christmas. I wasn't sure about using a face oil, as I thought it would make my skin super oily as I have combination skin, but I was completely wrong!
I use it at night, only once a week as I am trying my best not to use it all! I'd say its quite a light oil. I use it all over my face, usually by its own, or ill use a moisturiser as well if my skin is really dry. When I wake up in the morning my skin feels really soft and plump, and it has a sort of glow, and it isn't as dull as it is most mornings. I just love the results that it gives. I think it's an amazing facial oil, but you must keep in mind that I haven't tried any others.
It looks yellow in the tube, but on the face it is just a clear oil. The only thing I do not like about this oil is the smell, it smells a bit like olive oil. Which I don't know if its a good thing or not, as it is an oil at the end of the day. But I've got used to the smell by now, but it isn't too overpowering anyway, and isn't noticeable after you've actually applied it.
I really like the packaging of this product as well. It's a glass kind of tube, with a roller ball on the top. Which I think is great as you can just roll the product on your face, or roll some on your fingers first and then apply it to the face. I like everything about the packaging, even the font used!
The 10ml sample size that I have retails for £15 which I think is quite pricey, but facial oils do tend to be rather expensive. You can also get a 30ml bottle for £30. Although it is quite a pricey product, I will repurchase without a doubt! I cant wait to try out some other facial oils, as I don't think I could cope without one in my skincare routine.

Garnier Roll-on anti dark circles

I've been using this product for about 2 months. I've got rather bad dark circles under my eyes, which I cover up with heavy concealer every day, but I thought it was time I tried something that could get rid of them and prevent them. I hadn't heard anyone talk about this product, so I bought it on a whim. Garnier also have a roll-on spot treatment which they released the same time as  this product.
I think it's a great product as it claims to get rid and prevent dark circles, and it also works as a concealer. The special ingredient in this product is caffeine, which is supposed reduce dark circles.
I use it every morning, and although it doesn't conceal very much, it does sit under my foundation nicely. The metal roller ball is nice to use in the morning as it's refreshing and wakes my eyes up a little.
I don't know how long you need to use it before you can see the results, but my dark circles haven't increased, but I guess they haven't decreased either. I can definitely see the prevention qualities of this product, but I think I'm going to have to wait a little longer to see my dark circles reduced.
It comes in 4 different shades. It is quite pricey for what it is - £10.49 usually. But I know that it's half price at Boots at the moment, and I'd say it's worth the price of £5.23. But if you really want a deal, I bought mine from home bargains for only £1.99! If you see them in home bargains for that price  you definitely need to pick one up.

Rimmel Scandaleyes eye liner

This has to be the best eyeliner I've ever tried. Most pencil eyeliners I've tried don't stay in  my water line and tend to fade throughout the day, but this eyeliner is totally different. I can apply it in the morning, and it's still there when I take my make up off at night. It has a smooth creamy texture which isn't rough on the water line. It claims to be waterproof, which it definitely is.
This is the nude version, but it comes in a variety of colours, which I am excited to try this summer. My favourite is this nude one as it's  great for lining the water line and making the eye look wider and brighter. There isn't much to say about the packaging of this eyeliner, but it's clear and demonstrates the colour of the actual eyeliner very well.
They're great value for £3.99, and is currently the best eyeliner at the drugstore. I've seen lots of youtubers and beauty gurus talk and rave about this eyeliner and I now understand why.

Bourjois Volumizer Mascara

This is my favourite mascara at the moment, and it's probably the best mascara I have tried. I knew it was the mascara for me as everyone asked me if I was wearing fake lashes whilst I was wearing it. It has become my everyday mascara.
It is the only two step mascara that I have tried, but I think it's amazing you can get two looks from one mascara. Although it is the same brush for each step, the product is distributed differently in each step, this really does make a difference.
The first step is more aimed at lengthening the lashes, and the second step is aimed at volumizing the lashes. Although the second step can make your lashes quite clumpy, so you do need to be careful whilst using it. I tend to use only the first step to school, as I don't want my lashes to be full on, but on the weekends I do use both steps.

The consistency of the mascara is quite wet, but I don't mind as it gives me great lashes.
The packaging of the mascara isn't very special, but its okay, there aren't many mascaras out there with gorgeous packaging. The packaging does tend to start rubbing off after a while. The main focus of the packaging is the two step system, which is easy to use.

I believe that this mascara is well worth the price of £10.99, and I will repurchase after mine has finished, but I don't know when that'll be as it seems to be lasting me forever.

Barry M Gelly hi-shine nail paint

I've been a fan of these gelly nail paints since they launched. I've built up quite a collection, as I like them so much. I think they are a great cheaper alternative to gel nails.
They have a thick gel consistency, which applies smoothly, without any streaks. Although the brush isn't thick, it is still really easy to apply. It usually lasts about 5 days with a topcoat.
One of my favourite colours for spring and summer is papaya, which is the perfect coral colour. This colour compliments any skin tone.
The only thing negative about this nail paint is that it isn't the sort of nail polish that you can paint and go, it does take time to dry, but you do get a better result. Most of the shades are opaque in one coat, but I tend to put two.
I've always loved the Barry M glass bottles, and the gelly polishes are no exception. With the silver caps it gives the nail paint that elegant look.
They have recently introduced new pastel shades to the range, which are perfect for spring, I am very excited to try them.
I would recommend any of the gelly nail paints to anyone as they are amazing value for only £3.99.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

I'm sure everyone has heard about this concealer, because it is amazing! But I just want to explain to you why I love it. I'm going to make a big statement and say that this has to be the best concealer at the drugstore. I use it for a number of things, to highlight and cover my dark circles, to cover blemishes, to highlight in general, and as a base for eye shadow.
The consistency of this concealer is really creamy, which covers everything. It is so easy to blend either with your finger or a brush, it's just ideal!. A lot of people complain that this concealer creases under their eyes, but I don't seem to have that problem, I just make sure that it's fully dry before I put my foundation on.
Everyone that owns this concealer knows that the writing on the packaging of this concealer rubs off straight away, but I'm willing to look past it as the actual product is amazing. The overall packaging of this product is cheap, and it isn't anything special but I guess that's what you get for the affordable price.
This concealer has a doffer applicator which is fine if you want to use that to dab it on specific places on your face, or you can just use a brush if you prefer.
This concealer comes in four shades - fair, cool medium, warm medium, and dark. The only complaint I have is that the shades that are available are quite on the pink side, and I have more of a yellow skin tone, but I can still make it work for me. I wear the shade 1 Fair.
The only thing that I hate about this concealer is the smell, I can't stand it, but as long as I keep it from my nose then I'm fine.
This concealer is great value for only £4.19. I use this daily, and I'm going to have to repurchase when mine runs out, because my make up isn't complete without it. If you are one of the very few people that haven't tried this, I cannot stress to you what you are missing out on, go try it out now!
